Castles of Steel: Britain, Germany and the Winning of the Great War at Sea
By Robert K Massie.
Incredible read if you like naval warfare especially during the WWI period. even if you are not familiar with World War I, I still recommend this book. It takes you into another world. The sea-battles are written in superb detail as if you were watching a movie in your head. At times you would sympathize with the British and at another battle you would be sympathizing with the Germans.
If you like medieval time especially the crusade history, get The first Crusade by Thomas Asbridge or A history of Crusades 2 The Kingdom of Jerusalem by Steven Runciman.
Sorry a bit OT but these are some awesome books.
My sympathy always lies with the German....I feel that the Germans were always portrayed as the "bad guys" due to their expansionist policy of the Third Reich and Deutschland ueber alles. I never find the Allied to be as noble as they were painted. My only negative sentiments of the Germans were 'cos of the Holocaust...Hitler personal vendetta against the Jews.
Do u feel that the Germans are more superior in their weapons and warfare...the Sub was ingenious then.
I am goin to try to get hold of A history of Crusades 2 The Kingdom of Jerusalem by Steven Runciman. Dun have much knowledge of this. Do u have any other recommendations in regards to the Middle East...currently keen on this part of the world.

I was at my fren's house...at first I thot it was some action packed movie on till her dad clarified. It was horrifying. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect something like that to happen. It was almost surreal watching it on screen.
It really changes many things...and travel to the US was no longer a breeze. The whole world seems to take on a paranoid nature, and greatly affects how things operates. The world economy went into shambles and chaos over nite. Many companies went bellyunder with many job losses. Up to today, people still get paranoid, and are highly suspicious 'cos of Terrorism. Travelling also take on a whole new dimension.
It had an especially great impact on my life, as I had to give up my plans to go NYU for further studies in 2002, and head downunder to give my parents peace of mind. Unforseen event not of my own making actually disrupt my original plans.
Haiz...better to live to the fullest day by day than to plan too far ahead as some things are not within our control.

plus you're working, so once a week is best.
they used to have twice weekly one and a half hours when they were at Finlayson Green, after work hours. Easier to concentrate with shorter duration. Maybe I have short attention span.
